Characteristics
Description
Dalmore 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a pinnacle expression from the renowned Highland distillery, The Dalmore, celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship and signature style. This 18-year-old single malt is a showcase of decades of careful maturation and meticulous cask selection, combining elegance, richness, and depth to create a whisky that is both complex and approachable.
The journey of the Dalmore 18 begins with 14 years of maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, which lays a smooth foundation of vanilla, honey, and subtle oak spice. This initial period allows the whisky to develop a gentle warmth and rounded texture. The spirit is then finished for approximately four years in rare, hand-selected Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks, seasoned with rich, aged Spanish sherry. This finishing stage imparts profound layers of dried fruits, dark chocolate, warm spices, and subtle citrus notes, elevating the whisky to a luxurious and multi-dimensional character.

Dalmore distillery uses the Loch Lomond stills, which is one of the significant features. These stills have three water cooled plates in the neck of the still and allow the distiller to better control the level of reflux during the distillation"
